Reviews of Morley Library
- Alan Chen Added November 05, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Grew up in (I say this nearly literally, I spent a good chunk of my formative years there) the old Morley library, which was in a much better venue. This new one is a shell of the other one and isn't worthy of being considered it's successor.
The staff were pretty nice last time I went though.
Not the best library, but I've seen worse libraries, so 3.5/5.
The old one would be a solid 5/5 - Isobel J Added November 03, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ★I only popped in to use the WiFi, but just want to say the librarian was exceptionally friendly and helpful and sensitive with everyone she served, and it's cool to see someone doing an important job so well
- Neoly Mai Added October 25, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ★Library is good but the parking officer is a Karen
- Jahmarley Cole Added October 22, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Very small library but it is a nice place to read a book or go on the computers and the staff are very helpful.
- Selina M. Added October 18, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ☆5 stars for the fantastic staff who are friendly and really go out of their way to help you! Unfortunately the library could be in a more desirable location with a bigger space and better facilities.

Local Government rates are an annual payment made by residents living or owning property within the council area.
Your rates are a simple way of contributing to vital community services and infrastructure including:
Recreation facilities including three public librariesMaintenance of over 100 playgrounds and over 30 reservesThe City's 24/7 security patrol serviceInfrastructure maintenance of roads, footpaths and street lightingVarious arts and events programs. For a comprehensive breakdown of how your rates are used to deliver these products and services, please view our 21/22 Budget - Strengthening Our Community brochure.
Objects and Reasons for the proposed rate and minimum payment
The general rate detailed for the 2021/22 financial year has been determined by Council on the basis of raising sufficient revenue to deliver operational needs albeit the City is expecting an operating deficit in Total Comprehensive Income.
The minimum rates have been determined by Council on the basis that all ratepayers must make a reasonable contribution to the cost of local government services/facilities.
The amount you pay in rates each year is assessed by multiplying your property’s Gross Rental Value (GRV) by the rate in the dollar set by the City of Bayswater.
(Your rates = GRV x rate in dollar).
The GRV is the fair rental value of the property as determined by Landgate Valuation Services (Valuer General’s Office).
Each year the City also sets a minimum charge based on the basic services provided by Council. If the calculation of the GRV by the rate in the dollar results in an amount less than the minimum charge, then the minimum charge will be raised.
The below rate in the dollar and minimum payments were agreed by the City for 2021/22.
