  I had one of the most terrible dining experiences I've had in a very long time. I came here before going to the ballet on a Wednesday night with my family. They said as long as we were in by 5pm, we would be put by six. We ate off of the special $39 menu speciafically for people who had a show to go to. What a mistake this was.
  
  The first course came out at around 5:10pm and it was fine. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. It got to 6pm and still no meal. The poor waiter tried to ring the kitchen 3 times to see where our food was. Unfortunately our parking ticket ran out at 6pm (as we were assured we would be out by this point) so my father couldn't eat his main course. Which consisted of cold cuts and salad...something that shouldn't take 45 minutes to make. The waiter was very apologetic about this and ended up refunding us the $14 for his salad.
  
  When our food eventually came out at 6:10pm. We only had time to eat half as our show started at 6:30pm. Again. Another mistake I ate at all. I ordered the chicken with roasted veges. The vegetables weren't even cooked and I ended up with food poisoning at the end of the night. I have NEVER had food poisoning before.
  
  Thanks for the horrible experience Grand. I'll be sure to tell my friends not to go here. Ever.

  Food was fantastic but the waitress who served us upstairs on Friday night had the worst attitude which put a damper the evening. The waitress who served us, served the wrong drinks and then acted like it was a big inconvenience to correct the mistake and then actually scoffed when I asked for the dessert menu.
  
  Would have been a 5 star review but for the appalling customer service of this waitress. The more experienced waitress on shift was very efficient and friendly though

  We went here for lunch yesterday 22.06.17 & had booked for 5 people including 1 strict vegan the day before via phone.
  
  When we arrived the restaurant was cold & breezy even though we were indoors. Although the waitress was ok, she seemed uninterested & like she didn't want to be there.
  
  I made it known to her that I was the vegan and asked what my options were. I was told that my only option was the Mushroom risotto without the Parmesan cheese on top. That was fine because I love risotto so I ordered that and my colleague next to me also ordered the risotto but with Parmesan.
  
  There weren't many people in the restaurant so we thought our food would come quite quickly. Although we didn't wait ages we did wait longer than expected considering there wasn't many people in the restaurant.
  
  When my 'vegan' risotto arrived it had no Parmesan on which was promising and the non vegan one did have parmesan. I took a mouthful and thought it tasted like it had some form of dairy in but thought i was being paranoid so had another small spoonful. As i was getting my third spoonful i noticed that it had a stringy cheese consistancy. I stirred around and noticed small white cheesey bits throughout the risotto which were definitely cheese. I picked a larger chunk out and called the waitress over (it took some time to get her attention).
  
  When she did come over I said my risotto has cheese in it, and she said no it's vegan as I asked the chefs for it to be vegan and that's why they didn't put parmesan on top. I showed her the cheese and she said sorry let me go check with the chefs. When she came back she advised that she spoke to the chefs and although they cooked the risotto vegan, as they cooked it together with the other one they "accidentally" put cheese on the batch afterwards but then "tried to pick it off" (although it seemed more like they didn't pick it off but in fact decided to stir it through the risotto in the hopes that I wouldn't notice). Unfortunately for them I did notice and am VERY unimpressed. Although I am vegan and luckily not allergic to dairy, this could have happened to someone with an allergy and it could have turned out terrible for them. I didn't get them to make me a new one as personally I can't trust the chefs after that experience and had lost my appetite so sat while the rest of my table ate their meals. I did however ask for my risotto to be taken off the bill which it was but this should have been offered along with an apology which I didn't really receive.
  
  My meal wasn't the only one who had complaints as the 3 people on the table who ordered the chicken dish mentioned that it was quite cold.
  
  All in all we were all very unimpressed by The Grand and will not be returning or recommending it to anyone else.
